I'm Justin Lo. I've been playing drums for twenty years and teaching for eight. Justie Drumiary started as somewhere to put my playing online. The charts came later once I realised people actually want them.

I transcribe whatever I want. I listen to basically everything, something I really like maybe indie, soul, jazz, hip hop, funk, fusion, shoegaze and when something really gets me, I write it down. Some of it is hard to find written down anywhere.

Eight years of teaching changed how I chart. A note-perfect transcription is no use to someone who can’t play it yet, so some songs here come in more than one version. Same song, different door in.

I lived in Hong Kong for many years. Since 2026 I've been in Singapore, my new home.

Outside music I like all kinds of art, and I'm curious about most things. I play chess when I'm free; if you want me to beat you, DM me on Instagram. And if you find something outside drumming you want to share, a poem, an artwork, a painting, an interesting book, a piece of furniture design, even a wildest imagination idea, I'm always happy to talk about it.
